Wall Paneling

Hi Guys,

What is the best way to make up wall panels? I have used a face frame cabinet and removed the all but the face frame and the backer and then added base and cap moulding. I know this probably wouldn't work for cnc purposes, but it is relatively simple for just designing.

One thing I ran into was placing these pieces. Sometime they would not attach to a wall, or if they did, they were backwards. Any ideas how to change this???

That's it John. You can do so many different variations with that method, Back and Frame thickness, Top and Deck. Try an 1 1/2" thick Top with a molding under it, or a 6" thick deck material as a base.

Take a cube or a panel the size you want the paneling and bring it into the parts editor and then the contour editor. Draw lines where you want the panels to go. Then pick one of the asymetrical cutters and router it out. It makes a pretty good panel.

Thanks guys for the info! Did anyone download this hsf file and try to place it into a room? Everything worked great except it didn't always attach to a wall properly.

Any ideas??

I forgot to mention that the room I placed this paneling into was a basement and I was placing the paneling on both sides of many of the walls. Would placing them on the backside of a wall cause this?

I think so. You should be able to place them manually though.

Rick, I was able to place them manually using the free style. I was just looking to see if there was an easier way.
