The Cabinet Won't Move
I took a stadard base cabinet removed the toe so I could aply four carved feet( that are user created) applied doors, drawer font and drawers. Saved the cabinet then reopened that same cabinet and I want to move it out of the way so I can use a display panel to put under the cabinet. I am going to use the panel to attach another cabinet ( a drawer bank) then repeat for the other side. So I will have a base cabinet with carved feet then a drawer bank without feet then another base cabinet with feet.
When I try to move the cabinet off of center of the screen the feet move and the drawers move and the cabinet stays where it is. Why won't the cabinet move I asm sure I have done this in the past.
Thanks
Gary

Re: The Cabinet Won't Move
Rick,
Yes I did. I then went and started a new standard base cabinet and tried to move it and it won't move.
I don't know what is going on. Are you able to move a cabinet in the cabinet editor?
I can hold down the shift key and right click and move the cabinet with the screen moving, but when I hold the ctrl key and right click the cabinet won't move.
Now I can load a foot or any display object and they will move.

Re: The Cabinet Won't Move
If you want to move an assembly using ctrl-right mouse button, you have to select every item in the assembly. This is why you sould save the cabinet with feet as a cabinet and not as an assembly. Only use assembly for multiple cabinet assemblies that you wish to install into a room as a single item.

Re: The Cabinet Won't Move
Dan,
I did, I saved it as a cabinet and the only things that move is the feet and the drawer boxes. If I use any cabinet in the cabinet editor I can not get the cabinet to move. But I can get any display object in the cabinet editor and they move just fine.

Re: The Cabinet Won't Move
Gary,
Are you selecting the entire cabinet by double clicking on it. It will have a green frame around the cabinet (Not a hatched pattern like when you select a single part.)
Post your cabinet

Kerry,
I am making a square around the cabinet to get the green hash marks on the whole cabinet.

Re: The Cabinet Won't Move
Here's a tip for you Gary.
I hardly ever use Display Boards or Display Panels for anything since they are not re-sizable after you place them. What I normally do is to take a part of a cabinet, like a face frame stile for instance to use as a sizable board. For a re-sizable panel I will use a side or top of a cabinet. Just remove all of the parts you don't need until you are left with just what you do need. Then save these parts in a Cabinet directory with a name like "Parts". I can then open the file called "Resizable Board" and turn it into whatever I want, such as a fluted column. You can do the same thing of course with the panel parts of a cabinet. For instance, you can make a re-sizable table top from a cabinet top.
Hopefully in a future version of the software we can have re-sizable Display Boards and Panels.
Joe
