Face Frame on the back

Post by Gary Puckett »

Is there a way to put a face frame with inset drawer fronts on the back of a cabinet without having to do it piece by piece.

Yes, develop a cabinet with a back made of 1/32" material, and depth of 25/32". Now you have a thin cabinet or "Bar Back" which is re-sizable. You can then add it to a cabinet and save as an assembly, or added directly to a room.

Rick,

How is that allowing me to take the back to the face frame editor and apply a face frame, then take that to door/drawer front editor and apply the inset drawer fronts :?: :?

I took a standard base framed cab to the CE I then removed the toe, sides, top and bottom. Changed the back material to 1/32 generic. Removed the adjustable shelf, set the depth of the cab at 3/4+1/32. Then in the DE removed the doors and drawer. Right click to construction settings, set the inset to 3/4 and the gap to 1/8 added the doors and drawer back. Back to main screen, and save. HTH

If you download the Panel Gary, you can then inspect how the settings are configured.

Rick,

Sorry to be so thick headed, but here is what I am trying to do. This Cabinet is for a flat screen TV. The TV will be on a lift. I want to duplicate the front and put it on the back. So both the front and the back look alike.

Thanks
Gary

Gary,

Here ya go. It has to be made in an assembly which can only be resized in CE. All you have to do is double click to highlight each cabinet and resize individualy. I simply deleted all the parts except for the faceframe and then loaded the cabinet again. Then highlight one cabinet and rotate 180 degrees. You can then use the align item to lock the to cabinets together.

Gary, no need to apologize! I was under the impression that you needed a bar back.

If you double click the cabinet, then you can copy it.
