You don't get this message when you open the file in the Cabinet Editor? This message is caused by the HSF file type not having information required to be a cabinet. This is why you cannot change an assembly or Display Boject to a cabinets.

Dan,

I get the same result as Gary. The object functions properly when opened as a display object in the cabinet editor but when I try to take it back into the Display Part Editor it crashes eCabinets.
Did you open his file as a cabinet file or a Display Object.?

Gary,
I would still build this as Dan suggested earlier, a cabinet with everything but the face frame and drawer fronts removed. Make the cabinet 3/4" deep and save it as a cabinet then place it on the back of your other cabinet and save as an assembly.

Thanks ,

I will have to do it Dans way , I don't know if it will still let me rotate the doors to show they are opened

It's just weird eCabinets should look at this as a hsf file and let it function as one, it's like it knows what I am trying to do

It should function properly when loaded as a Display Object but Gary says that he is loading it into the Cabinet Editor as a cabinet, not a Display Object.

Another thing is that Gary keeps saying he is trying to load it into the Part Editor, NOT the Display Part Editor--which is it? It indeed crashes eCabinets when loaded into the Display Part Editor.

Gary: We have to have accurate information to help you. There is a HUGE difference between the Part Editor and Display Part Editor. Are you loading this file into the Cabinet Editor as a cabinet or Display Object? That is very important. Are you trying to use the Part Editor or Display Part Editor? That is also very important.

Gary,

You will have to add the doors that you want to display open manually in the cabinet editor not in the Door/Drawer Front Editor. They will still show up in the cutlist.

Dan,

I am loading the part in the cabinet editor as a assembly not a display object.

I am then trying to load the part in the Display Part Editor .

What I am saying is the Door was made piece by piece with display boards, and default drawer fronts. Then that was saved as an assembly. Now when I go to load the assembly in the cabinet editor it shows up as a whole door.
Now I select the door ( the whole door has a green mesh around it ) and export it as a hsf file save it to my desk top.
Then I go to the display part editor and try to load the hsf file and eCab. crashes Why??????? It let me save it as a hsf file eCab. should read it as a hsf file. If I go to properties it says it's a hsf file.

Gary,

I think I may have discovered why your cabinet is crashing the Display Part Editor

The Arrow is pointing to a Standard Base Frameless that I loaded next to your cabinet.
your cabinet scales somewhere around 112 feet wide by 149 feet high.
(Your cabinet lost it's texture when I loaded it in the Cabinet Editor is the reason for the yellow)

there is definitely something screwy with this. I would just rebuild it as Dan suggested.
