Do I have to install toe kicks before installing base cabinets? If so I assume that I need to build them in the cabinet editor first.

Don,
If you are using Detached Toe Kicks then you will have to build and place them as separate cabinets. There is a \"Standard Detached Toe Kick\" in the standard cabinet library to get you started.

No, but it is easier for placement & associating them to a wall.

I have been having a problem placing cabinets in the elevation view the cabinet does not sit at the detached toe kick height. It doesn't always put two cabinets at the same height. I was wondering if the was some kind of trick to this because it works fine in the overhead view but i would like to place my cabinets from the elevation view.Any help would be great.

When you place a cabinet in elevation view you will need to click on it and then go to the upper left hand side of the screen. Where it says 'bottom' click the number next to it so that it is highlighted. Type the height you want and hit enter. This should set the cabinet at the height you want. Do this with all cabinets and they will all be placed a the correct height.

When your adding cabinets to your room, in the Place Items screen click Change Size, from there it allows you to set the install height. So when placing your bases set them at 0", then set the cabinet at the required height. A trick that works well is to build your bases an 1/8" lower than your cabinet install height, that way there is no chance they will interfere with each other.
