Request: Looking for Slow Cabinets to Regen in V6

Post by Rick Deskins »

Anybody have any cabinets that are painfully slow to regen? Please Post zip file of cab and state the general amount of time it takes on your pc to regen.

Thanks,
Rick

This one takes 18 seconds to change from 18 inch to 26 inch width. It seems kind of painfull to me. lol This is a stock download from the frammed library. It has 4 dovetail drawers in it.
My pc is a few years old, but ran V5 pretty good. I was just using the downloaded library to do a "quick" design layout, but it wasn't quick at all. I am going to need to go back and delete all the drawers so it won't take so long for design work.
I hope this info is of some use for you.

Not painfully slow, but far too slow for what it is.

Rick in that same library download the base corner units that have a lazy susan in them take over 30 seconds to load or regen.

Take out the lazy susan and it loads in just a few seconds.

Just FYI, I noticed that you used part editor cuts on the back parts to get a non mitered center back look. You can now do this with an option in Contruction Settings. If you go to Corner Settings and uncheck Miter Center Back. You will still have to cut down the left and right back with part editor cuts.

Rick, I didn't modify that cabinet at all. That is the way it came from the thermwood free downloaded library. I didn't know there were PE cuts on it though.

If you REALLY want a slow one, take the island with the dovetail drawers in it from the stained face frame library. That one should lock up your system.

I am just working them up for layout 3d work. I have other libraries I am using for my cutting needs.

Thanks for the info.
