Non-Manifold Body

Hi Guys!

I am trying to cut a part using a closed contour and the response that I get is: "cannot apply the selected changes: the resulting part would have a non-manifold body."

What does this mean?

I am guessing, but sounds like the operation would result in two separate "bodies" in the same "part".

Sounds to me that you are actually trying to change the overall shape of the part. This can be done in two ways (that I can think of):

1) Cut AWAY sections of the part.
2) Create a closed boundary that is then used to redefine the outline of the part.

In both instances you have to make sure that what you are doing will not result two or more unconnected pieces remaining in the "part" space.

I made a dxf outline and it must have created two parts in the cut. I'll look at the part a little closer.
