Parasolid Boolean Subtraction Failure - again

Post by Donald Thomson »

When trying to add a Conestoga CRP-20 or CRP-30 with the following settings I get the dreaded error in the title.

Standard Hickory material
Nutmeg 40sheen color
FP Profile
Alternate Source pricing - Cost/Sq Ft set to 30.00

Add a left hinge door and I get that error where it's saying "Parasolid Boolean Subtraction Failure while coping door bottom rail" :? :?

I get the exact same results when I try to add a Conestoga CRP-30 door.

Is there something wrong with this cabinet? Other cabinets take the CRP-20 or CRP-30 just fine.

Donald,

We have this listed and will be looking into it. For now, you will need to choose another profile such as the J-2 PROFILE. The issue seems to be related to the size of the door for some reason. A 16" x 24" door will create fine with the FP PROFILE, but the height/width combination around the size you are wanting (on your cab) is having the problem.

Thank you Scott.

I did notice that if I choose a different Conestoga door, other then the CRP-20/30, it works just fine with this cabinet. On another cabinet in this job, that has the same dimensions as the one having problems, the CRP-20/30 doors worked fine. There must be something about this cabinet and the CRP-20/30 that the parasolid boolean subtraction routine doesn't like.

Not sure what it could be....

Donald,

Are you sure you are using the same profile etc. with the CRP-20/30 on the other cabinet?? I did not even use your cabinet for my test for the programmers. I simply loaded a display door into the cab/assm editor at the size that would get added to your cabinet (17" X 29.25") and it reproduces the issue. If you have a cabinet that will allow you to create the exact same door size using the CRP-20 with FP Profile, please get it to me so I can examine it.

Scott,

I've attached the cabinet that has a CRP-20/30 door on it.

Donald,

The door is not the same size. The cabinet that works has a 1/2" narrower top rail making the door 1/2" taller (29.75" tall compared to 29.25" on the cab that fails). This puts it into a combination that works. The issue definitely looks to be size related. We will look into it. Thanks for your help.

You're right Scott.

I changed the top rail from 2" to 1.5" and it took the CRP-20 door just fine. Interesting that with a 2" top rail it won't take a CRP-20/30 door but other doors are fine.
