Non Manifold body

Post by Leo Graywacz »

I am trying to make a panel that is curved using the contour editor, some lines and an asymmetrical cutter. I keep getting this

Driving me nuts

Leo,

Try reversing the direction of the cut.
Make sure your cutting depth isn't too deep for your material.
Which Asymmetrical cutter are you using?

I tried all different depths. Of course I tried both ways. It was the #3 asymmetrical cutter, the standard panel. I even tried a bunch of different router bits including a simple straight bit. I changed my material to a 2" thick cube. Just about always the same error. Other times it was a different error.

If I did a partial wrap or a single line cut it would work. But as soon as the curve was involved it would give the error.

Leo,

Are you using the latest build released yesterday? I am not seeing the problems with it.

I wasn't then I downloaded it and installed and I had the same issue. I rebuilt the panel several times, restarted the software, tried boards and cubes, different depths, different cutters all ended up in errors. The only times I got anything to work right was when the panel was on the wrong side of the line. And of course, that does me no good.

Leo,

Save your part with the geometry as an assembly and post it.

Leo,

I think your panels may be too close together in the center for the assymetrical cutter to work.

That was it Kerry, too close together. Not sure why it wouldn't let me cut the first panel. I could understand it not letting me cut the second.

Thanks Kerry.
