I have a problem/question with a construction method. Im trying to create an inner wall with a stretcher that reaches beyond the deck, but since you need to select two pieces for it to "stretch" the only way i could think to archieve this is to make the bottom joinery a fulldado with the settings of the thickness of the dado of what i needed, it seemed to work but it left behind a little material that i dont know why it doesnt dissapear if the dimentions are correct. You can see what im talking about on the images.
Is there another way to make this kind of construction or is this fine and i dont need to worry about the remaining material?
Thanks in advance.

Try using a partition instead of a stretcher and let the deck dado into the end and the partition dado into the deck. It looks like you might have the dado depth for the stretcher too deep also.
Sadly thats the way this kind of gabinet is made here where i work, at first i made it something like that but they told me it was wrong, and it had to be done the way i showed in the pictures. If this construction is that weird i may have to talk to my supervisor so the construction method is changed, but if its not, is there a way to do what i asked? exacly as in the pictures but without the extra thin material left on the deck?
Sorry Scott, i answered before i tried what you said first with the partition and it works my only question is, can i constrain the separation from the left/right end for when i resize the cabinet?
Yes you can.Use the advance feature in the stretcher editor click on the stretcher and select adjust stretcher. Click on advance and set inset 3 to the Left stile back inset 4 to the back front and inset 6 to the left stile right click ok then lock inset 3,4 and 6 to 0
But its not a stretcher, i used a partition like you said and now it looks like this just like they wanted. So is there a way for a partition to lock it like the stretcher?
Its a shame that you cant lock partitions but well, ill just have to remember to adjust them each time i rezise the cab, and for the cab that you made, thats somewhat of what i builed and ill try to show it to my boss if hes willing to change the construction method.
Really Scott, thanks a lot and have an awesome day.
