Laptop screen adjustments

Good morning to all.

I am using Ecabinets on a 15" and 17" laptops.
( Windows 8 )

On the 17" screen , it is ideal - I have full view of everything.
On the 15" screen , when working on a job in the main screen - the cabinet information in the lower left , is off the page .

Is there any way of reducing everything to fit on the smaller screen ?
( like when surfing with a browser you can reduce or enlarge, the entire screen with the touchpad )

I suggest that you look at adjusting the Windows' display settings on the 15" machine => INCREASE the display resolution. Sounds like it is currently set too low - possibly 800x600 (??).

I am making an educated guess here (based on a screen-ruler utility I have), but it looks like you need a minimum resolution of 1024x768 for eCab. (Just stating a 17" or 19" monitor as a requirement is not really succinct enough if you ask me. )

Of course the rest of your Windows "experience" on that machine will seem a little smaller (or bigger - depending on how you look at it), but hey - that's what you get with a 15" monitor!

Hi Brad.

My screen is set at 1366 X 768.

Yes definitely on the small side , but very portable.
It comes in handy when going on site to show clients the layouts.

Those are the settings that I'm using .

I wanted to make the Ecabinet environment a little bit smaller in order to fit everything on the screen.
I thought there could have been an option to zoom in and out to customize the size.
( similar to how we can do this within the program on drawings and cabinets )

Yes tried it.

I think I should be going greater than the 1360 X 768 format in order to get more of the image.
Since this is the maximum , can't do much about it !

If I now understand the specific issue:

In most areas of eCabinet Systems your 1366 X 768 is probably fine. Correct?

And if so, I assume that perhaps your issue is specifically with the CUSTOM LAYOUT Editor and the [Information] panel on the lower left part of the palette. With your screen height of only 768, the data in that pane is limited to about 3 lines - with things such as TYPE, WIDTH, HEIGHT, DEPTH and WALL ASSOCIATIONS beyond the bottom of the window. Correct?

If my assumption is correct, then this would perhaps be more a matter for the programers to somehow redistribute the overall information.

Bingo !

When hovering with mouse pointer over cabinets , the info in lower left isn't showing.
(width ,height , length ...)
I really like this feature , it lets me check individual cabinets at a glance.

Otherwise everything else is ok.

If you leave your mouse on a cabinet for a second, you will get a tooltip that will show the same info.

Yes I know about the tool tip.

I find it much quicker seeing info at the bottom of screen.

Wanted to know if there was a way to modify the appearance to make it fit my screen.

You can drag the toolbars at the top and attach them to the side of the window by using the dotting line at the beginning of the toolbar.

Ooooooo..... The possibilities.

That can free up some vertical space.

And on a dual screen setup, those toolbars can even be pulled off the main eCab Screen and moved to the second monitor! (As can the Pallet that normally slides out on the right - you can undock it.)
