Hi Guys.
I recently updated my computer and it has windows 8 on it.
I can load items and select and deselect using the Esc key for a while, as per usual.
After a while the escape key doesn't work and i have to restart the computer to bring it back.
If I persevere with a job I can manually click to deselect each item.
In the picture I have highlighted a piece (green cross hatching) one click to deselect and it removes that part of the green unit highlight). But the whole unit is still selected.
Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?
I'm not sure if it may be another program interfering with something. I tend to have open Adobe PS4 and Shark FX at the same time.
Any feed back appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Windows8 deselect
Hi Josh.
I understand what you mean. That still does work but it is slow when you have a few Items highlighted and selected
I am talking about using the escape key to deselect a few items quickly.
I find it a quicker way than double clicking on every item.
And as i said it works for 5, 10, 30 minutes, then stops working resulting a computer restart to restore the function.
On my old computer I never had this issue, so i was just trying to work out if it was my new computer problem or perhaps a glitch in eCabs working on Windows 8?
Thanks
Mark

Re: Windows8 deselect
I have been using windows 8 for about a year now and have no issue with the escape function. I would check and make sure that you have all of your video Graphics drivers up to date. That will be the first thing the THM guys will suggest. Also you might try checking or unchecking use graphics double buffering in settings and preferences.
It would seem possible that if you have mutable programs running that are using up a lot of your systems graphics resources it may cause some glitches. Have you tried closing the other programs?

Hi Scott
Thats a good idea on the double buffering. I will try that.
This computer is a lot better than the old one which was handling every thing just fine.
The hard drive was starting to fail on the old one
8gb of ram and a i7 core, should be no problems.
I just had a driver update and it has been happening before and after the update
Thanks
Mark

Re: Windows8 deselect
Hi Guys
Just a heads up
If anyone else is having this problem
I have worked out that when I have Photo shop 4 open, I cannot use the escape key in eCabs.
I have updated to the latest version of eCabs and it is still happening.
As soon as I close Photo shop the escape key works fine.
There must be some overlapping of the programs inside the computer some where.

Re: Windows8 deselect
Thanks for the heads up., I personally do not uses Photo Shop but I have had from time to time experienced similar circumstances (mysterious Glitches) that you described when having mutable programs that require a lot of my video driver’s resources running at the same time.
