Issue with face frame cabinet and f(x) for shelves

1) In cabinet editor load a std base Framed cabinet from the standard library
2) In Construction Settings under add shelf settings in the f(x) editor for the front inset enter the following formula (Cabinet depth – Back thickness – Left stile thickness)/2
3) Click ok to return to main. Then take it into the shelf editor, Select the shelf right click and select construction settings then click ok.
4) Return to main notice that the shelf is exactly ½ the inside depth of the cabinet.
5) Change the cabinet depth to 21 inches note that the shelf is now 8 ¼ and the distance from the front of the shelf to the back of the face frame is 11 ¼ even though the front inset in construction settings is saying 9 ¾.

Everything seems to work fine with a frameless cabinet.

Thanks for the post and concise steps. It appears this is happening for adjustable shelves and partitions. I will get it documented and resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wanted to let you know of a work around in case you didn't discover it. If you add the adjustable shelf or partition with an f(x) formula already set, it will then work fine. Just try to avoid highlighting them to add an initial f(x) formula inset. Hope this gets you around the issue until we get it resolved.

Ok. So if I understand correctly I should delete the existing shelf then apply the formula and add a new shelf? Haven’t tried this yet but just checking.

Yes, that should work for you. Works in my tests anyway. Let me know if it does not work for you.
