outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Just updated to the news control nesting 7.08 and thm software 11.3.5
When cutting off fall it only does a proper outline cut on 2 of the edges per piece and left a ramp in on the other two edges. Attached is the cnc code and some pictures. Not sure if anyone else has run into this. I have been able to duplicate it yet.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Thomas. Yes.!!!!
I thought I was the only one.
I have this ramping problem and i am having real problems nesting.
I was back and forthing with Clint. (Oposite time zones.)
So I presume the guys are working on it.
I just write my experience in case you spot whats triggering it.
It seems to get progressively worse which is weird.
Starts with a few random ramp things, goes in a mm and descends along the entire length.
To wont nest at all.
I generally just do a graph screen from plan view to see if it throws any errors.
But I was xyand z viewing to see the ramps and if things were okay, outline cuts were disappearing. There were the 3050 out of bounds quite a lot. And not a valid bookmark.
Some jobs were just hanging up mid nesting and I had to close it.
Tried rotating out units to try and isolate the problem.
I thought I was onto something when I set the outline roughing setting to 0, but that got rid of the outline cut altogether.
Now i can't reproduce that. It keeps changing. Its like a bloody virus.
I am a metric user and trying to get useful files to Clint, I changed my settings in ECabs, in the settings, to the top selection feet, inches and decimals.
Then I changed the settings in the control nesting to imperial. The same feet, inches decimal. And supercontrol to Imperial.
Shut down , restart.
loaded a job in ecabs, exported the imperial twd.
Opened the job in control nesting and for some reason everything worked.
Switched back to metric , all good.
Tested and played around with the problem jobs, couldn't get any of it to play up. (It Knew Clint was watching and waiting)
Its playing up again today and I can't get anything to work.
Today I load old or new jobs, its not ramps its just random 3050 messages .
If anyone else can have some input, please help, I can't get any work out because its broken.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Just FYI, we are using 7.08 to program our CS41, and haven't had any issues (yet). We also use metric. And we use the THM desktop software to run CN and write the CNC code. Probably too many differences to be useful for troubleshooting, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Hi mark, you can "roll back" the software by just downloading and reinstalling a old version i was using 7.06 cause 7.07 was bugged for me. this has helped out a lot in the past.

Thomas,
I've sent you an email outlining some things and a file that should correct the issue. Mark and I have been struggling with this one, he is getting a lot of inconsistencies making it difficult to diagonse.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Thanks for the help guys.
It was a twofold problem. As well as the ramping issue I also had some jobs with small radiuses that was messing with the roughing and my settings.
Of course I had to pick 3 jobs with small radii to test, so from this small sample I was feeling like every job was broken.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Okay, we just had this issue, cutting simple rectangles. What causes the issue in our case is changing the quantity of parts from the Load screen in CN.
Start CN, go to Manual Panel Input, define a panel (I did 1000x1000mm) and add it. Nest and write CNC, and it will be fine. Go back to the Load screen and change the quantity, re-nest and write CNC, and you will see this ramp in issue. In our case, the pre-plunge depth is supposed to be 7mm, and it seems to either be ignoring that, or pre-plunging to .7323mm.

Here is a snippet of the CNC code cutting a rectangle. Notice the tiny pre-plunge amount, and the fact that it actually ramps back UP to that amount on the last line.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08
Did 7.09 address this issue? We had to roll back to 7.07, and I'm hesitant to install the new one.

Hi Jeremy.
I am pretty certain it has.
I think the file that Clint sent us above would have been incorporated into subsequent updates.

Yes, should be corrected for 7.09.Jeremy Schiffer wrote: Thu, Mar 07 2024, 12:09PM Did 7.09 address this issue? We had to roll back to 7.07, and I'm hesitant to install the new one.
