Cut-out instead of pocket

I don't know anymore how to set up so the cnc does not do a Pocket instead of a regular cut-out, I have a sink cut-out to do and it does it as a Pocket so it takes a lot more time to do it and I don't understand why it does it this way !! It's a part from eCab.

Most likely you need to adjust your Pocket Area (Through Cuts) value in Settings of Control Nesting. Any through pocket that has an area below that value will be pocketed out completely. Any through pocket with a value in area larger than that, will be cut around the edge, and the "plug" left behind. See attached screenshot for value to modify.

are you using groups?

make sure your changing the setting for the apropriate group.

my cleanup amount is always at 0" ...your settings look fine to me though.

is it drawn up to cut all the way through or just a pocket? because i'm not sure of any other reason it would do this.

write the program. do CTRL+F ...look in the programming to see if it does a (pocket clean up) or (pocket rout).

if it does a pocket Rout...then you need to re draw that pocket to cut through

Can you post an export from Control Nesting? Select File, then Export. If you cannot post it here, you can email it to cabinets@thermwood.com. Make sure and put in the subject line Export from Forum so I know what it is related to. I can start with that file, but may need additional files.

This may or may not have anything to do with your pocketing issue but...

From one of your screen captures, it looks like you are still using Control Nesting 5.93. That version was from August of 2016 and was available prior to the latest eCabinet Systems 6.1.2/6.1.3 release. Since some of the pocketing features within eCabinet Systems were "enhanced" (particularly to support "islands" or "clamp" areas) there may be some internal "linkage" within the latest Control Nesting 5.98 version that better supports the information now coming from eCabinet Systems.

While Clint and the folks at Thermwood look at your files, you may want to update your Control Nesting version of the machine to 5.98 - if only to keep up-to-date.

After reviewing his export and related files, there is currently a limitation within eCabinets. He was using a Display Panel to create the part, and cut out in Part Editor. Nothing against doing that. The limitation comes in when he wrote to CNC and changed material thickness. Display Panels do not behave the same way as cabinet parts, so the Part Editor information does not behave the same way.

I personally recommend taking a regular cabinet, deleting all parts except the back. Then use it as a Display Panel. It can then be modified for size, grain direction, go into Constraint Manager, etc. Many more possibilities than a Display Panel.
