Counter top problems

Post by Jon Dieterlen »

I have a job that has a couple of countertops that I can cannot get to load. When I created the tops I changed the image from the marble to a formica color. This top material, however is not a saved material in the define material area. The job saved OK, but when I try to load the job, a box pops up declaring that the top material is not found. I tried to add the material, but the thickness is locked at -91230000. The material cannot be added with a zero (or negative) thickness. I am also unable to select an alternate material as there are no choices in the dropdown box. Please Help!!

Thanks, Jon

Sometimes stuff happens. But now you know how to build them quickly, based on your notes, drawings, etc.

You can edit the countertop as follows:

1. In the Custom Layout/Detail Room, double-click on the countertop to highlight it
2. Right-click and select Countertop/Edit Countertop
3. NOW you can select an image to apply

You can create a texture sub-directory within the materials folder of eCabinet Systems and add your own images, from which you select the the material image to apply. I provide an example using alder, for example. It be anything you can imagine.

I guess the most frustrating part is that I did save regularly. (I have learned my lesson long ago) When you construct the countertop you can change the image, add splashes and overhangs. I changed the image. This must be a no no. Back to the drawing board.

Learned another lesson
