end panels....HELP!

Hello,
I have a question about end panels. When an upper cabinet intersects with a fridge cabinet,Do you make and "ELL" shaped panel,I am talking recessed shaker style here.
Or do you just leave it flat plywood?
Any ideas or sample dwgs would sure help.

It would depend on the distance between the face of the fridge cab and the face of the upper. It's also a matter of personal taste. I would see nothing wrong with a flush panel on the side of that fridge cab.

I usually make the upper over the refrigerator 24" deep and will at times have a panel on that portion that sticks by the standard 12" deep upper. When my customers order the matching end panels, they like the fact that wy give them just that little bit more than what they were expecting.Plus, I think it looks cool.

Is it an L shaped panel? do you have a rendering of one? i think it might look cool too,plus it wouldn't leave an unfinished end.

Sorry, no renderings. The panel is just on the part that sticks past the upper.

I haven't yet, but funny you should ask as I'm in the process of moving my small shop into a much nicer space and partnering up with 2 other guys. I've made a router my 6 month goal.

Damon yes that is what I'm looking for ,but with two panels instead of one.one under the upper cab and one long one beside it. How does one go about making that piece also.?

Brian, the first image, I brought in a display panel and took it to the parts editor and machined the raised panel. You can make pretty much any shape you want.

The easiest way to make two seperate panels is to bring in two doors and mesh them together to get the look you are looking for. In this picture I am using a 25.5" deep refridgerator cabinet so that my granit doesn't stick out there ( I hate that), and I placed a 12.75x34" door on the side of the cabinet and then placed a 24.75x 19" door just below the other door and lined up the styles to make them look as if they are one end panel. Oops, just noticed my back splash is not touching the wall.

I love it,the two panel wider at the bottom,great idea! i will put it in the proposal and see if it flys.Maybe i will pretty this one up and send it to jason for the next e cab mag.
