Crown on upper corners

Post by Jean G Voyer »

I create my crown for the uppers by using the top part of a cabinet. For the 90° corner the front crown will show in the cabinet editor but not in the custom layout.
I will try to attach the job. Didn't work.

Jean,

If you are not placing the crown using the molding editor, make sure you associate the crown to the cabinet before returning it to custom layout.

Here is an example.
Then take the cabinet in the cabinet editor.
If it behaves like it does here you shouldn't have the front molding in the layout but you will have it in the cab editor.

Hi Jean

I tried your cabinet and I cant see your molding in the room either, by the way I like the way you do your moldings. I took your cabinet and placed the moldings my way and they dont show up either. It must be a problem with corner cabs.

Thanks Fred

Hey Jean, I did the crown on a corner cab your way and placed it in a room and it worked. Did you associate the front crown to the cab?

Rick,

It won't let me associate the crown to anything. I am pretty sure it's a bug. I tried all sort of things. There must be something that you have done different than me.
I have been doing my crown like that for a long time and I never had any problem until 5.2.

I can see what you have done. I think you have added the front piece separately. I am trying to use the molding editor.

It's a bug for sure. If you are in the Cabinet Editor the molding shows. If you place the corner cabinet into a room the molding is missing from the front of the cabinet, but it shows on the sides.

Thanks Joe & Karin. Then I feel I am not dreaming.
Sorry Rick but I know you are trying to help. I'll see you in the valley sometimes when I go to renew my supply of wine. :)

The reason I placed the crown after is that I did a negative inset on the top. The crown would only follow the front without inset.

I see what I should have done was just make the cab deeper by the amount of my inset. Sometimes thing are right in front of your nose and you don't even see them. :?
