Hi Bryan. Nor sure I understand exactly what you are referring to but I assume you are talking about a cabinet with the door top hung and the door would lift up? This is easy to resolve by modifying a cabinet lying on its side so the sides become the top and deck. This way you can resize and the correct CNC info is given
I would love to see this option as well because there are situations where I can't lay a cabinet on its side. Since we mainly do closets most of our cabinets are done with multiple sections. A tilt out hamper has its hinges on the bottom shelf and when the next section is a stack of drawers, the only work around is very time consuming.
Bryan I dont see why this should be a pain in the butt once you have created this unit and saved it in your library. All my work is done in custom layouts and I use this solution all the time.
John i am not clear as to what you are trying to achieve, perhaps you can give an example and I may have a work-around
If you save the rotated cabinet as an assembly, I think it will minimize some of your effort.
When the cabinet is installed in either the plan or elevation view, it snaps to the wall, but installs at floor level. So you'd need to reposition it in elevation view both vertically and horizontally. Other cabinets don't snap to an assembly and assemblies don't snap to other cabinets. I think that if you needed several of these cabinets to line up, it might be easier to make an assembly of all of the uppers. Then install the whole bank of cabinets on the wall as one unit.

BTW. I'd think that there might be some that would want the capability to hinge on the bottom of the door as well.

Here is a jpg and an hsf file that shows a hamper door which is hinged on the bottom shelf and is surrounded by drawers. I cannot do this design to be cnc'd just by rotating the cabinet. The "work around" that I use is creating a contoured pattern from a rotated cabinet.
