Is there any way to set the ramps different for the types of operations? I am cutting shaker style mdf doors and so would like a larger ramp for my larger fly-cutter type tool that I am using for that pocket operation. But I don't want to use a large ramp for my outline/rout operations.
I believe that Kyle is aware of those settings, but my interpretation is that he would like a separate set of parameters for the "area clearance part" of the Pocketing operation.
Yep, What Brad said. Maybe in the pocket area or something. It actually is working now fairly well. I can just set the rout area to one things when I am running mdf doors and then change it back when I am doing other parts. The problem is just when I am doing other parts in the same nest. It is helpful to have that separate setting from the outline cut.
Your suggestion is good if Kyle just wanted different "Outline" and/or "Rout/Dado" "Ramp" settings for MDF as a whole.
What Kyle is looking for is differing "Ramp" settings between "Pocket" and "Rout/Dado" operations within the same material. Currently the "Ramp" settings for "Rout/Dado" are also used for "Pocket" operations. He would like to have one set of "Ramp" settings for "Rout/Dados" and another separate set for "Pockets".
Adding a "Pocket Pre-Ramp Depth" and a "Pocket Ramp Length" setting would solve this. (Perhaps if implemented, "BLANK" (undefined) values in either would then have Control Nesting use the "Rout/Dado" settings used by default?)

Or even to get to the real heart of the matter would be if I could add a ramp setting to a tool. I am using a flycutter type tool for pocketing out shaker style mdf doors and so a short ramp setting really gets hard on the tool.

We also use a flycutter type tool for pocketing on mdf shaker style doors, and we were able to lengthen the tool's ramp-in length by changing the rout/dado length setting
